MEET OUR DOCTORS
Thomas K. McKean, M.D., Ph.D
Dr. McKean completed his Ph.D. in Pharmacology at Northeast Louisiana University School of Pharmacy in Monroe, Louisiana. He attended medical school at Louisiana State University of Medicine, New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his residency in psychiatry at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in North Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. McKean is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has been serving the Hickory community since 1997.
James T. Barker, M.D.
Dr. Barker completed his MD degree at Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, West Virginia. He completed his residency at University of Virginia where he served as chief resident in psychiatry. He is dual trained in psychiatry and internal medicine. Dr. Barker is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and joined Hickory Psychiatric Center in 2004.
E. Leonard Roberts, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Roberts completed his MD degree at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, and later went on to complete his psychiatric residency through the University of Rochester in New York. Dr. Roberts is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and Addiction Psychiatry. He is also certified by the American Board of Addiction Medicine. Dr. Roberts joined Hickory Psychiatric Center in 2022.
Javier Rojas, MD
Dr. Rojas treats a wide range of behavioral health-related medical conditions in adult patients including depression, bipolar and mood disorders, psychosis, schizophrenic disorders, dementia-related behaviors, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, sleep disorders and suicidal or homicidal ideation. He is actively involved in bringing new psychiatric medications and pharmaceuticals to the market through clinical research trials.
Dr. Rojas received his medical degree from University of Arizona-Tucson, and completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Alexandra Infanzon Santiago, DMSc, PA-C, MPH
Alexandra first graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, then graduated from George Washington University with a Master's Degree in Health Policy. Alex then went on to earn a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Lenoir Rhyne University here in Hickory, and most recently graduated with a Doctor of Medical Science Degree with a concentration in Psychiatry from the University of Lynchburg in Virginia. She joined Hickory Psychiatric Center in 2022 and works closely alongside Dr. Barker.
